Due to the constant changes in the telecommunications industry, EWE TEL was faced with the challenge of consolidating information - including wholesale products, access addresses and contracts with other carriers - and providing this information in SPR/I format on a daily basis. Our solution: the innovative Replicare application. This application collects the required data on a daily basis and creates the corresponding replicas in SPR/I format, taking complex rules into account. An outstanding feature of this solution is its ability to process large amounts of data - the largest export reached an impressive 30GB of plain text files.
Requirements of the telecommunications industry
The telecommunications landscape is constantly changing and evolving, revolutionizing the way we communicate and exchange data. A significant milestone in this evolution was the introduction of vectoring by the Federal Network Agency in 2016. Vectoring is a technology that makes it possible to achieve speeds of up to 50 Mbit/s via DSL lines. However, in order to use vectoring effectively, technical adaptations to the cable distribution points (DCS) and the cables are required. An innovative approach to simplifying this transition is to offer telecommunications service providers the opportunity to distribute their products and services directly via the CPCs - a concept known as Bitstream Access (BSA). Under this model, telcos can offer their own products over other carriers' infrastructure while allowing other carriers access to their own technology.
Our solution: Replicare
This project illustrates not only the importance of BSA and its underlying technologies to the telecommunications industry, but also EWE TEL's ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to meet the ever-changing demands of the market. Our customized Replicare application has been instrumental in overcoming the challenges of data consolidation and provisioning. Our collaboration has not only enabled EWE TEL to optimize its internal processes, but also to take a leading role in the telecommunications industry.
