Digitization consulting for Hessen gastronomy

On behalf of HA Hessen Agentur, we developed a user-oriented communication and consulting concept for the hospitality industry and successfully put it into practice.

Our aim in advising and developing a new concept for restaurateurs in Hesse was to support them with digitalization and increase efficiency so that they have more time for their guests. Together with Teejit, the European Tourism Institute and Gastro Piraten, we developed a comprehensive communication and consulting concept. The results were reflected in a survey: 96% of the businesses surveyed stated that they had increased their competence in digital customer communication as a result of the digitalization consultation. 54% of all companies surveyed stated that they had already implemented measures in the area of digital customer communication as a result of the digitalization consultation. For a further 33% of the companies surveyed, these measures are already in the concrete planning stage.

The implementation

Based on the results of the market research, we developed an innovative, hybrid advisory concept - consisting of personal on-site business consultations in combination with topic-specific e-learning modules. In collaboration with tourism stakeholders and partners in Hesse, we then went on to implement the concept.

  • Structure of the learning platform

    At the end of the year, we began setting up the learning platform www.gastrodigital-hessen.de

  • Advertising the advisory service

    Flyers, articles in regional daily newspapers and in the leading medium ahgz (Allgemeine Hotel- und Gastronomie Zeitung) as well as a video were created to communicate the offer. The cooperation with DEHOGA, Metro and the local consultants was particularly crucial for the promotion.

  • Evaluation of the result

    From March to November 2022, 1,200 on-site consultations took place and the GastroDigital Hessen learning platform was visited around 3,000 times by restaurateurs from Hesse. This was accompanied by a monthly newsletter with practical examples and reports from the participating businesses.
