In order to ensure a reliable workflow and simplified master data maintenance, we introduced a PIM system for NUK. The core objective was to provide a modern architecture that optimizes processes and makes product data maintenance as centralized and efficient as possible. It was particularly important to connect the existing SAP system and the PIM system to various output channels (e.g. the NUK Magento stores and Amazon) and to offer the option of multilingual data maintenance and output.

Central data maintenance

After a detailed examination of the various PIM systems, MAPA GmbH ultimately opted for the Pimcore PIM solution. The aim of the implementation was to be able to maintain product data in a central location in future. The leading SAP merchandise management system also acts as a source of product master data for NUK and should therefore be linked to PIM. As a result, the data runs into the PIM via an API in order to enrich the data there and process it for the output channels. The decision in favor of a PIM solution therefore led to a permanent increase in efficiency in all processes involving product data: The collection and maintenance as well as the preparation and provision for output channels.

Together with MAPA GmbH and NUK, we are working on further developing the platform. In the future, the PIM will also be used for other MAPA GmbH brands. Further download and export options as well as additional output channels such as the NUK Magento stores are being planned to ensure multilingual management of product data. The roles and rights system is to be used even more extensively by including additional groups of employees.
